Inclusive Selfing

Since we project our phenomenology to understand our actions and interactions with the world, we must be our worthy companion. If we don’t like being alone, we are in bad company. There’s a tendency to look for others to resolve our loneliness, not realizing the culprit is our lack of self-caring. We place responsibility on chosen people to fill voids we create by neglecting our core excellence and emotional elegance. The expectations that others can nourish what only we can do for ourselves become overwhelming burdens in relationships: A path to dependence and sense of entitlement.

Biocognitive Glossary

Agency — Awareness of our contributions to our actions and objectives. Disregard for agency leads to blaming others without concern for our coauthoring. See sense of entitlement

Emotional Elegance — Enacting the rightness of the moment with exalted emotions (love, empathy, compassion, admiration, courage, generosity, gratitude) and higher cognitions (pride, admiration, honor, fairness, transparency, loyalty) during adversity.
