It’s Easier to Grow Older than to Age.
Requirements for Growing Older:
1. The passing of time.
Requirements for Aging:
1. Triggering gene expression of illnesses by entering helplessness.
2 Imitating how aging manifests in others.
3. Attributing symptoms to your age.
4. Dressing how your culture tells you to to look for “your age.”
4. Listening to health care “experts” who ask what you want for your age when you present a problem.
5. Living in elderly consciousness.
6. Giving up your dreams.
7. Believing you are too old to fall in love.
8. Attributing normal memory gaps to “senior moments.”
9. Telling others your age.
10. Believing family illnesses are inevitable rather than propensities.
11. Trying to look young rather than living youthfulness.
12. Accepting “senior discounts.”
13. Starting a negative sentence with “At my age…”
14. Dressing like the “elderly” in your culture.
15. Giving up physical fitness.
16. Assuming aging is normal.
17. Assuming illnesses come with age.
18. Assuming genetics is more important than how you live.
19. Using illness or your age as excuses to not have to do what you dislike.
20. Reminiscing about the good old days instead of living your present with joy.
And on, and on, and on…
