Curiosity: One of the Causes of Health

In my book The MindBody Self: How Longevity is Culturally Learned and the Causes of Health Are Inherited, I propose 10 significant attributes that can trigger the causes of health we have inherited from over 150,000 years of trial and error as Homo sapiens. Curiosity is one of the most important of these 10 mindbody experiences that can trigger wellness and suppress gene expression of illness. Although these attributes are implicit and subtle, they can be cultivated to improve your quality of life in the areas of health, love, and wealth.

Biocognitive Glossary

Ageless Consciousness — Life beyond the cultural portals that decide how you should think, speak, dress, and behave according to your age.

Coauthors of Stagnation — People or conditions that engage, reward, and perpetuate your outdated reruns: Usually people who are boring, but safe. They reinforce your stagnations by sharing their own novelty plateaus.

Curiosity — Inquisitive interest in others and seeking novelty are the main characteristics of curious people. When the life sciences look for factors that contribute to sustainable excitement in relationships, healthy longevity, recovery from trauma, creativity, and success, curiosity surfaces with greater significance than intelligence, education, and other contributors attributed…
